In 2012 Dronfield Civic Society, with help from volunteers and the Derbyshire County Council Countryside Services, undertook a significant project to create a wildlife and heritage trail along the former mineral railway known as Unstone Line.
Six information panels were designed replacing the two outdated panels and two new notice boards were installed.
Whilst cleaning the poster cases, a committee member noted that the posts of one of the older boards had become rotten and the rear of the board was covered with graffiti.
Committee Members David and Mick, with permission from DCC, replaced the wooden posts and stained the board with wood preserver.
The board then received one of our little blue plaques. Another job well done!
